Washing your period underwear shouldn't be complicated! We designed our products to be super easy to wash and care for. For best results, machine wash period panties on a cold cycle with mild detergent. Then, tumble dry on low. That's it! 

Pro tips: Don't use softener or bleach, and never machine dry or iron.

Our period underwear uses natural moisture-wicking materials in the gusset liner. They help prevent yeast infections by moving moisture away from your skin and inhibiting the growth of bacteria.

Every person has a different preference when it comes to shopping for undies. Some swear by thongs, others love a boyshort. Some prefer basic neutrals and others like color and patterns. Every single style of period underwear came from listening to our customers, and the best style is the one that suits you best! 

Choose your period panties exactly the way you would shop for regular undies. The only added dimension is the absorbency level—and there you’ll have to reflect on your own individual flow.

If you’re uncertain how heavy your period is relative to others, you’re not alone. So why not start with your favorite style and use it on your lighter days and back-up on your heavier days. Just as you did with tampons or pads, you’ll quickly get a sense of how much you bleed and what the right absorbency level is for you.

Period panties are designed to be worn day-long, just like regular underwear. If you have selected the appropriate absorbency level for your period flow, this should be totally feasible. However, if you have selected a lower absorbency level than your period flow on any given day, you may have to change underwear (or use in conjunction with a tampon or pad).

To recap the absorbency levels:

Super Absorbency 

These period panties are a total replacement for disposable period products - absorbs approximately 8 tsp, 40 ml, or the equivalent of 8 regular tampons worth of liquid.

High Absorbency

Ready to stop leaks whenever - absorbs approximately 4-6 tsp, 20-30 ml, or the equivalent of 4-6 tampons worth of liquid.

Medium Absorbency

Confident backup protection for heaviest days - absorbs approximately 3 tsp, 15 ml, or the equivalent amount of 2 tampons of liquid.

Light Absorbency

Panties that offer protection for your light flow days - absorbs approximately 1 tsp, 5 ml, or the equivalent of 1 tampons worth of liquid.

Only if that’s your personal preference! Some people like to wear period underwear as a backup and wear them in conjunction with traditional disposable products like tampons or menstrual cup.

However, they are designed to be fully relied on - as long as you select the correct absorbency level for your menstrual flow. So there’s absolutely no “need” to wear a pad or a tampon with period panties. As we said - it’s entirely your call!

Our Cotton Modal is a fabric blend made up of naturally breathable cotton and super soft modal fabric. Modal is an eco-friendly fabric made from regenerative plants, produced using less water and fewer chemicals, with properties very similar to Cotton. While our other Leakproof Underwear are made with synthetic fabrics and are totally seamless, our Cotton Model Underwear do have some stitching.

You can pay for the products like you regularly would with your debit visa or credit card. Then submit the receipt(s) for reimbursement under your FSA. So make sure to keep your receipts and confirmation numbers! If you have questions regarding the reimbursement process, please contact your FSA provider.

If you’re finding your Leakproof Underwear snug at first, that’s normal. We encourage our customers to wear and wash their Knix as much as possible in the first 30 days after delivery. The patented fabric is designed to mold to your unique shape, which is why it may feel so tight and give an odd shape at first.
